Who We Are
Jake's Curbside Appeal is a locally owned and operated lawn care company based in Washtenaw County, Michigan. Founded in 2017, we specialize in fertilizing programs, weed control, pest management, and specialty services for residential and commercial properties — and we bring a level of expertise to every lawn that most property owners have never seen from a lawn care company.
Jake spent 30 years managing turf at the highest level — 17 years on golf courses and 13 years in the turf and landscape industry, working across athletic fields and commercial landscapes — before turning that knowledge toward the neighborhoods he calls home. Every program, product, and timing decision at Jake's is rooted in the same science that keeps championship turf in peak condition.

The Story Behind the Name
Jake's Curbside Appeal is named after Jake — our beloved black lab who joined our family at two years old and became the heart of everything we do. When I was still working at the golf course, Jake came to work with me every single day, running the fairways while I managed the turf.
When we started the business, my wife came up with the name. She'd walk Jake regularly, and as he got older he loved those walks — but he'd stop and lay down along the way. One day he settled right down in a tree lawn next to a curb. Jake's Curbside Appeal was born.
Customers, suppliers, and subcontractors started calling me "Jake" — and after a while, I just answered to it. It's become an ongoing joke with longtime customers who know the real story. Jake crossed the rainbow bridge in 2025, but his name lives on in every lawn we care for.
